What data we collect

Public FAA records. Mechanic names, certificate types, and city-level locations are sourced from the FAA Airmen Certification Database, which is public data released by the federal government. We do not collect or display street addresses of individual mechanics.

Claim form submissions. When a mechanic claims their listing, we collect their email address, phone number (optional), shop name, website, and services offered. This information is submitted voluntarily and displayed on their public profile.

How we use your data

• Email addresses from claim forms are used only to manage listings. We do not share them with third parties or send marketing emails.
• Phone numbers and other contact details submitted via claim forms are displayed on the mechanic's public profile, as intended by the submission.
• We use Netlify Forms to process claim submissions. Netlify's privacy policy applies to form data in transit and storage.

Analytics

We do not currently use third-party analytics or tracking scripts. This site does not use cookies for tracking purposes.

Third-party services

• Netlify hosts this site and processes form submissions.
• Google Fonts serves the Inter typeface.

Data removal

If you are a mechanic listed on this site and want your information removed or corrected, contact us at hello@apnearme.com. Note that we source data from FAA public records; removal from this site does not affect the FAA database.
